I was recently interviewed for a local channel (Channel 7) for it's day time news cast :: 08/01/10 ::
Thanks to a friend, I got in contact with a reporter that represents one of our major television channels: Teletica Canal 7. (www.teletica.com)
The note covering my splash photography (Liquid Sculptures) will be transmited this coming week (first week of August), and it will probably be about a minute and a half, which for me is awesome!
I still don't know what day it will be on, but as soon as I know I will get ready to grab it and put up a copy in my youtube channel and share it here with the couple of people that visit my site hehe.
I will also be uploading more regularly new photos to that gallery.
The macro photography (insects, arachnids, lizards, birds) is now open. :: 01/25/10 ::
You will probably find a couple of photographs in there that don't belong in the Macro category, but most of the almost sixty photos are extreme macro, using extension tubes, teleconverters, macro lenses, diffused flashes, tripods, etc.
I like going for the micro close up, and it's never enough for me
At some point I'm going to be able to get a Canon body, with their famous 65mm 5x macro lens.
For now I'll keep finding ways (for instance I reverse mounted lenses to my Vivitar 100mm macro) to make more extreme close up macros of interesting creatures, with my Nikon camera bodies
After almost three years of excuses... ehem... :: 01/15/10 ::
Yes, the infamous 3d design illustration and photography work showcase of Oscar Blanco has recieved a long overdue re-vamp, and I finally decided to go from BETA, to the completely public release (crossing my fingers here). Now more up to date and recent work is available for your viewing pleasure and permanent retinal damage :)
It's still a WAP (Work in Progress), but belive me, it's a lot of content to prepare and upload!
You will find yourself looking at some 404 pages, can't help it for now, please be patient, and check back soon!
For me it's still something I'm learning to do well (or as good as I see done by much more technical savy photographers), but this artistic application in photography, not only offers some very interesting, color and texture ritch results, but it also holds the key to creating ambient ilumination maps for 3d scenes!
Some of the 3d renders you will see in my 3d galleries used my own HDR maps!
In the future, I will be including in my download section some HDR light probes (180 half-spherical HDR images) for all of those who can't get enough image maps options for their 3d renders.
My results in SEO friendly and CSS styled websites :: 09/26/09 ::
I am a firm believer that content is everything. And dynamic, scalable and searchable content is the true key to a succesful website (read: well ranked and popular).
The correct semantics have to go into the html/content arquitecture as well, and a solid wireframe design based on marketing and business needs.
That is the reason why you won't see a lot of flash in my website design, and the reason why I never got around to learning Acton Script.
I'm a CSS rebel, and SEO practitioner at heart. Don't ask me to optimize your content for SEO, THAT I leave to the experts in that field. But be sure I will do whatever I can, using logic as my guide, to help you out in constructing a solid foundation to start ranking your site in the major Search Engines (let's be honest here: GOOGLE)
