MULTIMEDIA PROJECT CONDO ROBLE (DEMO) This interactive mini cd, that was to be distributed at AICA's booth at a construction and home accessories fair, was an unique opportunity for me to have a go at finally putting to use my investigation on regards to interactive 3d using the technology developed by CYCORE called Cult 3D. My ex-partners and I did this multimedia project for free! We wanted to get our work out there and have people see how great a marketing impact could be made with a multimedia cd, that not only offered static information, or the standard video fly-through solution (most common when viewing material related to buildings, homes and any other type of construction). And since we where on the partner program with Cycore to try and push the technology also for them (Cycore offered interesting benefits for this), and we saw a lot of economic potential in doing interactive 3d, we decided that this was more an opportunity for marketing our own services. I did images, all the interactive 3d and sound editing, a colleague did the programing in Director for interactivity.
PROJECT SMART DISPENSER (DEMO) The American law that prohibits any kind of public advertisement for cigarettes created a marketing issue for Phillip Morris and all it's associated companies. One of them was RTC, a local company that makes the plastic dispensers that hold the cigarette boxes for sale at local (and Central American) markets and grocery stores. A solution was thought of by RTC (2003) and it just needed a good interactive presentation to convince Phillip Morris of investing in it's development. RTC turned to my ex-partners and I in Works-EZ to develop this multimedia project to help them sell their idea. We had to convince Philip Morris about how modular and flexible this Smart Dispenser was, meaning that it could hold all kinds of marketing media and also offer various perks for those market and grocery stores who decided to use them. For this project I did everything minus the 3ds models of the cigar dispensers (supplied by the engineering dep. of RTC) and some white blinking text seen in the animations. I composed all the fly-in animations, rendered, created some sound effects and put it all together in Director.
MULTIMEDIA PROJECT REDCOM TECHNOLOGY (DEMO) A small Multimedia Presentation made for a local company called Redcom, which sold at the time (2003) communication for all sorts of wireless services. For this Interactive Project I chose a style that I felt gave a warm user friendly appearance to an otherwise very technical information. Using isometric perspective applying cel render to give it a cartoonish style objects along with hand drawn and digitally painted characters, in a very colorful pallete (with the red base color of their Corporate Image). In this case I did everything (3d objetcs, cartoon characters, backgrounds, sound editing) but put it together in Director, which a colleague of mine did. This version of the demo is not the finished Multimedia Presentation, as you will notice it lacks the text content and still has some minor things still to complete on it. There's also some simplistically done video demonstration of their services in the Interactive Presentation that was also not done by us (you will notice a completely differnt style), Redcom did'nt have the budget to pay for a redo of that information video.
MULTIMEDIA PROJECT UENSE - ICE DIVISION (DEMO) The UENSE is one of the main divisions of the Costarican Institute of Electricity (and Telecomunications) ICE. UENSE is the division that deals precisely with everything related with Corporate Telecomunications nationwise. At the time we did this project for them the where starting to promote all their new and recently implemented corporate telecomunication services. So a very simple and direct user friendly presentation was created, making all the technical explanation less complex for the end users who would be corporate heads and executives (very rarely technicaly savvy). For this presentation I went for a similar isometric perspective view and cel render for all the 3d objects and characters, that even though still cartoony like the Redcom Multimedia Presentation, it still had a more corporate or exetutive feel to it. Here all the project was done by myself, put together in Director, sound made in various sound editing applications, and the 3d done all with 3ds max rendered with illustrate plugin.
MULTIMEDIA PROJECT UENSE - Technology Platforms (DEMO) Anything that gets upgraded from a Powerpoint presentation status to a Interactive Multimedia Presentation will be in a win-win situation, along with the people involved with the project that is getting promoted by this presentation. UENSE turned to us (as with more projects that I didn't put up on this website) for such an upgrade of everything they where doing. So when they wanted to do an internal presentation, to other divisions of the ICE, or to their superiors, the POW-WOW of Interactive Media was their secret weapon. Here they're promoting all their acomplishments in technology platforms offered at a corporate level. It's important to mention we had some pretty crazy deadlines with these people, because being a public service company, they tended to leave everything until the last minute, but we always came through. For this interactive project I did everything, putting it all together in Director.
